Adonose

This part of Yoshino river is the most difficult spot for Ayu (sweetfish) during their upstream passage. They will make the ritual return ascending against a stream and here try several times before succeeding. “Adonose” means “the rapid to stop sweetfish go upstream” and is known as the mecca for sweetfishing.
